New Budget on April 3
Finance Minister Neil LeBlanc today, March 28, announced he will introduce the government's 2003-04 budget in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly on Thursday, April 3, beginning at 2 p.m.
The minister said he will bring down the province's second consecutive balanced budget and will also post a greater than anticipated surplus for the current fiscal year. He also said the government will lower taxes to maintain competitiveness and keep the momentum in our growing economy.
"I am looking forward to bringing in a budget that will put money directly into the hands of Nova Scotians, while also increasing funding to health care, education and roads," Mr. LeBlanc said.
"This province is gaining financial strength and the 2003-2004 budget will reflect that growing sense of prosperity," he added.
