HMCS Fredericton and HMCS Iroquois En Route to the Arabian Sea

Deputy Premier Ron Russell and members of the legislature sent their best wishes to the crews of HMCS Fredericton and HMCS Iroquois, who set sail to the Arabian Sea earlier this month.

"On behalf of all Nova Scotians, I want to thank the hundreds of brave men and women who are risking their lives to protect us," said Mr. Russell. "Only certain people are so heroic as to place their lives on the line for the people of our country. They are definitely leaders on the front lines."

As part of Operation Apollo, Canada's military contribution to the international campaign against terrorism, HMCS Fredericton and Iroquois set sail for the Arabian Sea earlier this month. More than 500 crew members serve on board the vessels.

A Sea King helicopter is also aboard the HMCS Fredericton as part of its military supply.
