Ramey Road to Receive Road Work

Drivers who use Ramey Road in Lunenburg County are in for a smoother ride as a tender was announced today, March 26, for repaving work.

About four kilometres of Ramey Road will be rebuilt and repaved from MacKay Road at Union Square northerly to Barss Corner. The tender closes April 17.

"We're building better roads in Nova Scotia," said Transportation Minister Michael Baker. "This government said roads are a priority, and we're backing that up with much-needed dollars."

The Department of Transportation and Public Works highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains an inventory of 3,800 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from four district offices located in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
