Eel Creek Bridge to be Replaced

The province is going to replace the Eel Creek Bridge near Port Howe in Cumberland County.

Michael Baker, Minister of Transportation and Public Works, said engineering and design work on the new bridge will begin this year.

"This bridge is important to the community," said Mr. Baker. "We understand the role that bridges play in building strong and prosperous communities, and a strong and prosperous province."

Once the engineering and design work is completed, a tender for a new Eel Creek bridge will be called this year or next.

The bridge is a steel truss bridge, about 150 feet long. It is located on Route 301.
