Premier to Undergo Surgery

Premier John Hamm will undergo surgery on Monday, Dec. 23.

Following-up on a procedure he had earlier this year, the premier will receive a spinal fusion. Premier Hamm fully recovered from a similar neck fusion in 1993.

"I feel fine," said the premier. "However, my physician recommended this procedure and I am following his advice. The prognosis is good and I am looking forward to a full recovery."

During his recovery period, Premier Hamm will be participating in cabinet and other government meetings from his home and office in Pictou County.
