Premier Salutes Nova Scotia's Grey Cup Champ

Premier John Hamm and members of the Nova Scotia legislature today honoured Montreal Alouettes kicker and Bridgewater native Terry Baker.

The legislature unanimously adopted a resolution by Premier Hamm congratulating Mr. Baker for his efforts in securing the Grey Cup Championship for the Montreal Alouettes on Sunday, Nov. 24. Mr. Baker contributed to Montreal's 25-16 victory with a field goal, a single and three converts.

"Terry Baker is an exceptional athlete who has represented Nova Scotia well on the national level," said Premier Hamm. "He is a great person for the youth of today to look up to in the pursuit of both a healthy lifestyle and a high level of achievement."

The championship game concluded a 16-year career in the Canadian Football League for Mr. Baker. The legislature passed along best wishes to his wife Krista and their daughters Natasha, Ashley and Brianna in their new life on Nova Scotia's South Shore.
