Congratulations Huskies

Premier John Hamm congratulated the Saint Mary's Huskies football team for winning their second straight national championship.

The Huskies defeated the University of Saskatchewan at the Skydome in Toronto to win the Vanier Cup on Saturday, Nov 23. It's the first time since 1977 that a Canadian university has won back-to-back national titles.

"All Nova Scotians are proud of Saint Mary's for this historic athletic achievement," said Premier Hamm. "I would like to congratulate the players, coach Blake Nill and staff for again bringing the Vanier Cup home to Nova Scotia."

The premier said a ceremony will be held in the months to come to honour Saint Mary's.
