PREMIER'S OFFICE--Premiers Endorse Halifax Regional Municipality for Commonwealth Games

Premier John Hamm welcomed the support of his Atlantic counterparts for Halifax Regional Municipality's bid for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

The four Atlantic premiers endorsed the regional municipality's candidacy at their meeting today, Nov. 22, in Fredericton.

"Our government is seeking as much support as possible for this important event," said Premier Hamm.

The Commonwealth Games is among the world's largest sporting and cultural events and will deliver significant economic and social benefits for Halifax Regional Municipality, all of Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada.
