Easy Street Returns

Easy Street returned to the Department of Transportation and Public Works. At least the street name sign for Easy Street, in Meadowvale, Annapolis Co., was returned to the department's base in Middleton.

It was one of 40 road signs returned to the department in October. The department's amnesty program allowed people to drop off stolen signs, no questions asked.

"I think the amnesty program raised awareness about the cost and value of road signs in Nova Scotia and the importance of not removing them," said Ron Russell, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "It achieved its purpose."

The road sign amnesty program applied to all road signs owned by the department, including stop signs, street name signs and directional signs.
