TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS--Accident Closes Margaree Harbour Bridge

The Margaree Harbour Bridge, Inverness Co., is closed to traffic after a construction crane owned by a subcontractor collapsed on the site where foundation work is under way for a replacement bridge. The crane's boom fell onto the old bridge earlier this morning, blocking traffic.

No injuries have been reported. Investigators are looking into the cause of the accident. A detour is available on the East Margaree Road.
