Highway Delays on Canso Causeway

TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS--Highway Delays on Trans-Canada Highway 105

Today, Sept. 20, workers are installing a drainage system near the Auld's Cove Big Stop. Motorists should expect typical delays of less than 15 minutes, except when marine traffic uses the canal, in which case delays of about half an hour can be expected.

On Saturday, Sept. 21, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., pavement crews will work on the causeway to make up for rain delays. Traffic could be delayed up to an hour.

When long lineups occur, motorists using the rotary to get from Port Hawkesbury to Trunk 19 or the Trans-Canada Highway 105 may also experience significant delays.

Motorists are reminded to follow directions from local traffic control staff.

The Department of Transportation and Public Works regrets the inconvenience caused by this important work.
