Board to Hear Mental Disability Complaint
HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION--Board to Hear Mental Disability Complaint
Nova Scotia's Human Rights Commission has appointed a board of inquiry to consider a complaint of discrimination based on mental disability in the workplace.
The complaint involves Robert A. Pinner of Yarmouth, who alleges that his employment at Ken Burrill's Supermarket in Dayton, Yarmouth Co., was terminated because of his mental condition.
Peter Nathanson has been appointed as chair of the board of inquiry for the complaint. It will be heard on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 9:30 a.m. in Yarmouth at the Yarmouth Mariner Centre in the Sobey's Mariner Lounge.
Boards of inquiry are the final stage in the human rights complaint process. They are independent, public hearings into complaints of discrimination.
