TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS--Traffic Advisory, Highway 102 at Truro, Update

Both northbound lanes of Highway 102 near Truro are now open. One of the lanes was closed this morning, Aug. 16, when sludge from a sewage truck spilled on the highway. The tandem truck and several other vehicles were involved in a collision.

The spill happened between Exits 13 and 14-A, at the Salmon River bridge. Hazardous material teams and environmental staff responded along with the RCMP.

The Department of Transportation and Public Works thanks motorists for driving carefully and observing traffic directions while crews cleaned up the highway.
