TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS--Traffic Advisory, Highway 102 at Truro

Motorists using Highway 102 at Truro are advised to slow down while crews clean up after a spill from a municipal sewage truck.

Traffic was backed up for several hours this morning, Aug. 16, when the sludge forced the closure of one of two northbound lanes.

The spill happened between Exits 13 and 14-A, at the Salmon River bridge. Hazardous material teams and environmental staff responded along with the RCMP.

Department staff expect the second northbound lane to be open to traffic by late morning.
