Behind These Doors Exhibit Opens
The Nova Scotia legislature is hosting an exhibit, titled Behind These Doors, as it makes its way on a cross-Canada tour.
Murray Scott, Speaker of the House of Assembly, invites all Nova Scotians and visitors to view the exhibit. It is on display in the Hollis Street foyer of Province House, 1726 Hollis St., Halifax, until Oct. 31.
Behind These Doors showcases key features of parliament buildings across Canada. The product of a unique collaborative partnership, the exhibit displays images and objects contributed by the Parliament of Canada and the legislatures of each province and territory.
Behind These Doors conveys the richness of regional expression and the strength of shared parliamentary traditions. Images of government chamber doors and ceremonial maces are part of the exhibit. Additional highlights include architectural elements of copper and mosaic, decorative details of plaster and crystal, and needlework and silk costume accessories.
Visit the exhibit for an unusual glimpse at the remarkable parliament buildings that are part of Canada's rich heritage. The exhibit is open from Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., and on weekends and holidays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Aug. 31. It will then be open from Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. until Oct. 31.
