TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS--Trunk 1 to be Repaved, Annapolis County
Transportation and Public Works Minister Ron Russell today announced a tender call to repave more than 11 kilometres of Trunk 1, between Bridgetown and Belleisle, Annapolis Co. The project is estimated to cost about $1.5 million.
"This is an important investment on a key part of the Evangeline Trail," said Mr. Russell. "This demonstrates our commitment to making highway investments that support tourism and economic development in Nova Scotia. The local tourism industry of the Annapolis Valley in particular, stands to benefit from this work on Trunk 1."
The project calls for repaving 11.1 kilometres of Trunk 1, from the Bridgetown town line westerly to Youngs Mountain Road.
Contractors have until July 18 to submit bids. The work is expected to be completed by Oct. 31.
