Cabinet Visits Lunenburg

Justice Minister Michael Baker will host a meeting of his cabinet colleagues on June 19 and 20 in Lunenburg, Premier John Hamm announced today, June 14.

On June 19, cabinet will first meet privately with the Lunenburg town council before a regular cabinet session. The meetings will be held in the council chambers. On June 20, a private meeting will be held with the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg, followed by a regular cabinet meeting in the municipal council chambers in Bridgewater.

"This will give my colleagues an opportunity to learn more about our area and the issues we're facing," said Mr. Baker. "It's important that we meet outside Halifax to get a better understanding of what's on the minds of Nova Scotians across the province."

The meetings will be capped off with a barbecue on June 20 at the District Fire Hall in Dayspring, Lunenburg Co., beginning at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

"I encourage everyone to come out to the barbecue to meet Premier Hamm and government representatives," said Mr. Baker. "It's a chance to enjoy some good food and, no doubt, some spirited conversation."
