Cease and Desist Order

The Construction Industry Panel of the Labour Relations Board announced today, May 29, that it has taken action to end an illegal work stoppage which commenced May 27.

The complaint filed May 28, requests that the panel issue a cease and desist order against certain employees of Apex Construction Limited in Glace Bay. The employees are represented by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 1588 and the Labourers' International Union, Local 1115.

The panel has issued an interim order directing the employees who are participating in the illegal work stoppage to cease and desist and return to work at their next regularly scheduled shift.
