Call for Proposals
Applications are now available to fund projects that will help people with mental disabilities work through Nova Scotia's justice system and access other advocacy services. A total of $90,000 over three years is being made available by the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission, in co-operation with the Disabled Persons Commission.
These funds are targeted for innovative projects that will assist people with mental disabilities to gain access to legal education and other advocacy and justice services. Not-for-profit organizations or groups that work or advocate on behalf of people with mental disabilities are eligible to apply.
A complete package is available on the Internet at www.gov.ns.ca/humanrights or by contacting the commission at 1- 877-269-7699.
These funds are available a result of a settlement agreement reached in a human rights complaint by H. Archibald Kaiser against the Executive Council of Nova Scotia.
