Highway 104 Detour Due To Collision

Westbound traffic on Highway 104 between Exit 3 and the New Brunswick border will be diverted while crews repair damage to a highway bridge and the road surface. At about 3:30 a.m. today, May 9, a tractor trailer collided with the concrete highway bridge near Amherst. The truck was destroyed by fire, which also damaged the road surface.

Westbound traffic will be directed to Trunk 2 until repairs to the bridge and highway are completed. Highway crews hope to open one of the westbound lanes sometime this afternoon. Motorists are advised to slow down and observe all safety signs.
