TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS--Spring Weight Restrictions to be Removed

Spring weight restrictions will be lifted from provincial roads in Cumberland, Colchester, Pictou, Antigonish, Guysborough, Richmond, Inverness, and Victoria counties at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, April 29. They will also be lifted in Cape Breton Regional Municipality on that same day.

This removes spring weight restrictions from all provincial roads in Nova Scotia. Restrictions on roads in other counties were removed earlier in April.

Restrictions for trucks are announced each year during the spring thaw period to help protect roads that are weakened by wet, spring weather.
