Spring Weight Restrictions Removed in Parts of Province

TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS--Spring Weight Restrictions Removed in Parts of Province

Spring weight restrictions will be lifted on provincial roads in seven counties, the Region of Queens Municipality and Halifax Regional Municipality beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, April 15.

The counties are Yarmouth, Shelburne, Digby, Annapolis, Kings, Lunenburg and Hants.

Weight restrictions in the remaining counties may be removed on April 30 depending on weather and road conditions.

Restrictions for trucks are announced each year during the spring thaw period to help protect roads that are weakened by wet, spring weather.
