Cease and Desist
The Construction Industry Panel of the Labour Relations Board announced today, March 8, that it has taken action to end an illegal work stoppage that began Wednesday, March 6.
The complaint filed today requests the panel issue a cease and desist order against certain employees of Twin City Painting, Otis Canada Inc., Flynn and Rainbow Tile. The employees are represented by the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, Local 1439 and 1945, International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 125, International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, Local Union 1 and Sheet Metal Workers' International Association Local Union 409.
The panel has issued an interim order directing the employees participating in the work stoppage at the Howe Hall Residence of Dalhousie University to cease and desist. They are ordered to return to work at their next regularly scheduled shift and to perform their lawful duties as assigned by their employer.
