Cease and Desist Order
The Construction Industry Panel of the Labour Relations Board announced today, March 6, that it has taken action to end an illegal work stoppage which commenced today.
The complaint filed today requests that the panel issue a cease and desist order against certain employees of South East Dry Wall Ltd. and Bond and Coolen Contracting Limited. The employees are represented by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 83 and 1392 of the Nova Scotia and P.E.I. Regional Council and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 625.
The panel has issued an interim order directing the employees who are participating in the illegal work stoppage at the Howe Hall Residence, Dalhousie University, Halifax, to cease and desist and return to work at their next regularly scheduled shift.
