Condolences to the Family of Princess Margaret
LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR--Condolences to the Family of Her Royal Highness, the Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon
The following is a letter of condolence to the family of Her Royal Highness, the Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon by the Lieutenant-Governor of Nova Scotia, on behalf of the people of the province.
It is with deep regret that Nova Scotians mourn the passing of Her Royal Highness, the Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon.
As a visitor to Nova Scotia in 1958 and again in 1988, Princess Margaret enjoyed the diversity of our people. The warmth and hospitality shown to her by Nova Scotians remained a constant memory to her.
We remember her visits to our province with fondness and recall the easy manner in which Her Royal Highness embraced and greeted the people of Nova Scotia.
Princess Margaret championed many social causes and devoted her life to the service of her nation and the members of the Commonwealth. She has left an indelible mark on Canada and we will remember her fondly.
On behalf of all Nova Scotians, I extend deepest sympathy to Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, to the Queen Mother, to Princess Margaret's children David Albert Charles Viscount Linley and Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones, and to all members of her family. May God grant them strength at this difficult time and may they be comforted by the warmth of all members of the Commonwealth.
