Highland Village Open House to Reveal Early Findings

Highland Village Museum/An Clachan Gàidhealach in Iona is hosting an open house to share preliminary findings of the museum's strategic planning process. The open house will take place Sunday, Feb. 17, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the dining room of the Highland Heights Inn, Iona.

The museum is midway through its strategic planning process. The final plan will identify ways for the museum to reach its goal of being a centre of excellence for the interpretation, representation and celebration of gaelic culture in Nova Scotia. Participants in the open house will hear, view and comment on findings to date.

Catherine Cole and Associates, an Edmonton-based museum consultancy, Michael Kennedy, a gaelic researcher and historian based in North East Mabou, and Brian MacKay-Lyons, a Halifax architect, were contracted to assist the museum through the process. They will be on hand to talk about their findings.

Support for this planning exercise is provided by the Nova Scotia Department of Tourism and Culture and Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation. Highland Village Museum is a part of the Nova Scotia Museum.
