Collision Forces Highway 101 Detour

A collision between a car and a truck believed to be carrying oxygen and acetylene forced the closure of Highway 101 between exits 4 and 5 this morning. Motorists are being directed to a detour on Trunk 1.

Emergency response crews say it may take several hours to remove tanks on the truck. Once that's done, the vehicles can be removed and the highway reopened.

The collision happened around 8:30 a.m. today, Jan. 30.
