LABOUR RELATIONS BOARD--Cease and Desist Order, Scotia Trawler Equipment Limited

The Nova Scotia Labour Relations Board has taken action to end an illegal work stoppage that began today, Jan. 17. A complaint was filed today requesting that the board issue a cease and desist order against certain employees of Scotia Trawler Equipment Limited, Lunenburg.

The board has issued an interim order directing the employees represented by the National Automobile, Aerospace, Transportation and General Workers Union of Canada (CAW-CANADA), Local 1944, who are participating in the illegal work stoppage to cease and desist. The employees have been directed to return to work for the next scheduled vessel sailing time and to perform their lawful duties as assigned by their employer.
