Lieutenant-Governor
Lieutenant-Governor Myra Freeman will announce Nova Scotia's first entry into World Poetry Day celebrations on Friday, Jan. 18. The announcement will come during a luncheon to honour the High School Writers Circle, a group based at Auburn Drive High School that involves students from several high schools.
The group, which has promoted local student writing regionally, nationally and internationally, is organizing Nova Scotia's youth participation in World Poetry Day 2002.
March 21 has been designated as World Poetry Day by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
Details of the entry will be released at the luncheon.
