Gift-giving Delivery Service for the Holidays Begins
N.S. LIQUOR CORP.--Gift-giving Delivery Service for the Holidays Begins
The Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation is offering customers an alternative choice for gift-giving. The new service, called Giftline Direct, is for any gift-giving Nova Scotia customer who wants to have a fine wine, specialty spirit, or premium beer delivered as a gift in Nova Scotia.
"This service will allow customers to shop in the comfort of their own homes by calling a toll-free number, by faxing their order or by e-mailing us," said Yvonne Melanson, the corporation's vice-president of Merchandising Services. "Customers are looking for ways to make their gift-giving easier, and providing this service year-round is another way the NSLC can satisfy that need."
The NSLC is providing a toll-free line, 1-866-443-8675 (GIFT NSLC); a fax line, 902-450-6069; and an e-mail address, [email protected] , for customers who want to take advantage of this service. The liquor corporation is using Canada Post to make the deliveries, which will be made anywhere in the province three to five business days from time of order. Christmas orders should be placed before 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19.
"This type of service is not new -- it is offered by Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba liquor control boards," said Ms. Melanson.
"Canada Post will be using our Check 25 ID program to ensure the receiver of the gift is of legal drinking age," said Ms. Melanson. "As a corporation, we are committed to ensuring that people buy and drink alcohol responsibly, and that means taking steps to ensure that minors can't buy it."
