Christmas Gathering at Highland Village Museum, Iona

The Highland Village Museum in Iona will host a Christmas celebration recognizing Cape Breton's gaelic past at an open house called Céilidh na Nollaig, Sat., Dec.1, and Sun., Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This old-fashioned Christmas open house features gaelic singing, caroling and fiddle music. Four heritage buildings will be decorated as they would have been in Victorian times and up to the early decades of the 1900s. Tea, hot apple cider and oatcakes will be served. Admission is free.

The annual gift shop sale will also take place during the open house.
