Canso Causeway Closed Indefinitely

The Canso Causeway linking mainland Nova Scotia with Cape Breton is closed indefinitely. Crews are working to repair damage caused by last night's strong winds. Some parts of the roadway underneath the pavement were washed away, with debris tossed onto the pavement.

Once highway crews determine it's safe to reopen the causeway, traffic will likely be open on only one lane until all repairs are completed.
