Drivers are advised to gear down and prepare for winter driving conditions as inclement weather hits Nova Scotia today.

Rain and snow have been reported in parts of the province, and motorists are advised to use caution.

Salt trucks have been dispatched in the Amherst area because of the freezing conditions, and snow plows have been used to remove slush from Highway 101.
