TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS--Traffic Advisory, Bridge Collapse in Shelburne County

RCMP and Transportation and Public Works crews are at the scene of a bridge collapse across Upper Clyde River in Shelburne County.

Police say the accident happened while a logging truck was crossing the bridge at about 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 1. The accident sent the truck and much of the bridge's steel truss deck into the river.

Media inquiries about the accident investigation should be directed to the RCMP. The Department of Transportation and Public Works will assess the damage before recommending whether to repair or replace the structure.
