Best Wishes for Harris

Premier John Hamm expressed best wishes to Ontario Premier Mike Harris on the announcement today of his resignation.

"Under the leadership of Mike Harris, Ontario's economy became a powerhouse once again, helping strengthen the country as a whole," said Premier Hamm. "I know I speak for many in commending Premier Harris for keeping his commitments to the people of Ontario and working with provinces like Nova Scotia to advance greater federal support for health care, social programs and transportation."

The premier extended a personal note of support for Premier Harris's family.

"Public life is difficult for any elected official, regardless of political affiliation," said the premier. "I wish Premier Harris and his family the very best as they embark upon this new chapter in their lives."
