NEW WORK

ANNAPOLIS COUNTY: Middleton

Highway 101 will have a one-lane closure, on alternating sides, for repaving between Bridgetown at Exit 21 and Lequille at Exit 22, from Oct. 11 to Oct. 31. Traffic control will consist of a pilot vehicle and flag persons. Highway 1 can be used as an alternative route. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Highway 102 to Highway 101

Exit ramp 4B from Highway 102 to Highway 101 and exit ramp 1K from Highway 101 to Lower Sackville will both have one-lane closures for ramp realignment from Oct. 5 to Nov. 15. Traffic control will consist of traffic lights. The Glendale/Duke Street Exit of Highway 102 can be used as an alternative route. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Doyle's Bridge

Doyle's Bridge on East Margaree Crossroads and the Cabot Trail will be closed for repairs from Oct. 9 to Oct. 19. Traffic control will consist of signage. An alternative route will be made available. Work takes place 24 hours a day.

CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Trunk 4, Big Pond

Trunk 4 from Loch Lomond Road to Glen Albert Road, is under construction for upgrading, cold planing, gravelling and asphalt concrete repaving until Oct. 31. There are traffic control and construction signs. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 102

Stewiacke Bridge overpass at Exit 11 northbound, on Highway 102, will have alternating lane closures for bridge rehabilitation until Oct. 31. Traffic control will consist of Jersey barrier, drums and flashing lights. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on weekends as required.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 104

Highway 104, eastbound, at both the North River Bridge and the Route 311 overpass will have alternating lane closures for bridge and overpass rehabilitation until Oct. 31. Traffic control consists of Jersey barrier, drums and flashing lights. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on weekends as required.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Hilden Road Overpass

The Hilden Road overpass, located about five kilometres south of Exit 13 on Highway 102, will have alternating lane closures for bridge rehabilitation until Oct 31. Traffic control consists of Jersey barrier, drums and flashing lights. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on weekends as required.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Upper Stewiacke

Route 289 will have a one-lane closure near Upper Stewiacke for paving and bridge repairs until Oct. 31. Traffic control consists of flag persons and a pilot vehicle. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Valley

The Valley Bridge will undergo repairs until Nov. 30. Traffic will be routed through the work area by a temporary gravel surface detour and by the one-lane Bailey Bridge over Salmon River.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Amherst

Hastings Road, north of the community of Hastings will be closed until Oct. 22 to replace the existing culvert. Signs in the area will indicate a detour. The road will be closed 24 hours a day.

Route 366, the Tyndal Road, will have a one-lane closure, beginning eight kilometres east of Trunk 6 to Green Road, until Oct 12. Traffic control consists of traffic control persons and a pilot vehicle. Motorists should expect delays. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY; Trans-Canada Highway 104

Trans-Canada Highway 104, westbound, from Thompson Road to Oxford, will have a 1.5 kilometre, one-lane closure for crack filling until Oct. 10. Traffic control will consist of a Jersey barrier. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. A 200-metre section will be closed 24 hours a day.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Highway 102

Highway 102, northbound, will have a one-lane closure outbound from Bedford, from Exit 4 at Bedford/Sackville Interchange, to Exit 5 at Fall River for asphalt patching until Oct. 19. Traffic control consists of control persons, cones, flashing light units and barrels. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Sibley Bridge, Wyses Road, Meagher's Grant

Sibley Bridge on Wyses Road will be closed for repairs until Oct 12. A detour is available on Coles Road. Work takes place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Trunk 3

Trunk 3, Little Indian River Bridge (north), will have a one-lane closure for restoration of structure, including guardrail rehabilitation and deck/girder repair until Oct 31. Traffic control consists of lights. A detour on Highway 103 is available. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

HANTS COUNTY: Elmsdale Road Underpass Structure

Elmsdale Road underpass structure on Highway 102 at Exit 8, is under construction for bridge rehabilitation. Lanes will be reduced to three metres in width until Oct. 15. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 101

Highway 101 at Mount Uniacke will have traffic stopped in both directions for brief periods in order to allow blasting to take place. Blasting will occur until April 2002. Work takes place from 6 a.m to 7 p.m.

Trunk 19 from Campbell Road, northerly about 3.6 kilometres, will have a one-lane closure for pulverization, widening, gravelling and asphalt paving until Oct. 15. Traffic control consists of traffic control persons and a pilot vehicle. Work takes place from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: New Ross

Trunk 12 south of Lake Lawson Road at New Ross, will have alternating lane closures for pulverizing, gravelling and asphalt concrete paving until Oct. 19. Traffic control consists of pilot vehicle and traffic control persons. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

PICTOU COUNTY: MacLellan's Brook

Eureka Bridge on East River West Side Road will be closed until Nov. 17 for bridge repairs. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes. The bridge is closed 24 hours a day.

PICTOU COUNTY: Route 374

Route 374, the Stellarton/Trafalgar Road, from the railway crossing in Hopewell, southerly to Lorne Station Road and Cameron Bridge will have a one-lane closure for cold planing, gravelling, asphalt concrete paving and bridge replacement until Nov. 16. Traffic control consists of control persons and signs. Work takes place 24 hours a day.

VICTORIA COUNTY: Seal Island Bridge, Baddeck

One lane will remain open on the Seal Island Bridge, also known as Great Bras d'Or Bridge, while crews conduct deck replacement work. The work will take place until Nov 16. Traffic control will consist of traffic lights.
