ENVIRONMENT/LABOUR--Workers' Compensation Review Committee Meeting in Amherst

The Nova Scotia Workers' Compensation Review Committee is holding a public meeting in Amherst on Thursday, Sept. 27. The meeting will be from 9 a.m. to noon in Salon A of the Wandlyn Inn.

For the past month the committee has been booking appointments with Nova Scotians interested in workers' compensation. Amherst is the third stop for the committee in a series of meetings taking place in 12 Nova Scotia communities. It is seeking information on people's experience with the workers' compensation system.

The committee is studying 28 questions regarding Nova Scotia's workers' compensation system and is seeking input from those involved in the system as well as from the general public. It will submit its final report to government on March 29, 2002.

The committee's full schedule is available on the Web site. Those unable to attend the meetings can send in a written submission by fax at 902-424-0503, mail to P.O. Box 697, Halifax, B3J 2T8; or e-mail to [email protected] . The deadline for written submissions is Oct. 10.
