ENVIRONMENT/LABOUR--Workers' Compensation Review Committee to Meet in Halifax Area

The Nova Scotia Workers' Compensation Review Committee is holding public meetings in the Halifax area on Tuesday, Sept. 25, and Wednesday, Sept. 26. The meetings for both days will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Alderney Room of the Harbour View Holiday Inn on Wyse Road in Dartmouth.

For the past month the committee has been booking appointments with Nova Scotians interested in workers' compensation. The committee is visiting 12 Nova Scotia communities during the next two weeks to seek information on people's experience with the province's workers' compensation system.

The committee is studying 28 questions regarding Nova Scotia's workers' compensation system and is seeking input from those involved in the system as well as from the general public. It will submit its final report to government on March 29, 2002.
