ENVIRONMENT/LABOUR--Workers' Compensation Review Committee Announces Meeting Schedule
The Workers' Compensation Review Committee will hold nine days of public meetings around Nova Scotia beginning Sept. 24.
The committee is charged with studying 28 questions regarding Nova Scotia's workers' compensation system and is seeking input from system stakeholders as well as the general public.
"Workers' compensation is a complex and often controversial issue," said committee chair James Dorsey. "There have been many changes in the system recently, and it is important that we hear first-hand how the system is performing. We are counting on Nova Scotians to use these public meetings to come forward with their concerns."
The eight-member committee includes representatives from labour, employers and injured workers. Public meetings open in Truro on Sept. 24 and wrap up in Liverpool on Oct. 5.
