Cabinet Change

Premier John Hamm today announced the appointment of Education Minister Jane Purves as minister responsible for the Nova Scotia Youth Secretariat. Ms. Purves takes over from Rodney MacDonald, Minister of Tourism and Culture.

"It's important for government to integrate our support for young people with our commitment to strengthening public education," said the premier. "I am delighted that Minister Purves has agreed to assume this new responsibility."

The change is effective immediately. Other ministerial duties remain unchanged.
