Theodore Tugboat--Schedule of Events

Theodore Too -- the ocean-going ship with a giant red baseball cap, moving eyes and five-foot smile -- comes home to The Big Harbour this Saturday.

Theodore will arrive at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic in Halifax at 11 a.m. Theodore, officially named the North American Ambassador for Safe Boating, returns to Nova Scotia after an extensive water safety tour of the United States.

Theodore and his crew will welcome the public aboard for dockside tours, safe boating tips and stories of their many exciting adventures.

There will be many more hands-on activities inside the museum and on the wharf.

The schedule of events from June 30 to July 4 are as follows:

Original set and models from the Theodore Tugboat television show are on display exclusively inside the museum. Saturday, Monday and Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Saturday, June 30

On the Wharf

10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. -- Live music with the band of 24 Magnificent Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps.

11 a.m. -- Theodore Too's arrival.

11:20 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. -- Dockside tours of Theodore Too.

Noon to 4 p.m. -- Fun water safety activities with the Lifesaving Society, Canadian Power and Sail Squadron, and the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary.

1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. -- In-water demonstrations featuring the Canadian Coast Guard Cutter Sambro.

Inside the Museum

9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. -- Create your own masterpiece at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia's Art Kart.

Noon to 4 p.m. -- Big Harbour Play Centre and Model Tugboat Workshops ($2/model while supplies last.)

Sunday, July 1

On the Wharf

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. -- Dockside tours of Firebird, a Department of National Defence fireboat.

Noon to 4 p.m. -- Fun water safety activities with the Lifesaving Society, Canadian Power and Sail Squadron, and the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary.

1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. -- Dockside tours of Theodore Too.

Theodore Too is scheduled to depart on Thursday morning, July 5.
