TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS-Tenders Being Called in Five Counties

Tenders are being called Wednesday, June 27, for road work in Annapolis, Colchester, Cumberland, Digby and Halifax counties.

The work in Annapolis and Digby County will consist of bridge rehabilitation.

Section 1 -- Lake Brook Bridge, Shore Road East, approximately 4.65 km east of Parkers Cove Mountain Road.

Section 2 -- Bruce Multiplate, Route 201 near Bridgetown, approximately 5.1 km west of Highway 101 connector at Rice Road.

Section 3 -- Smith’s Cove Bridge, Trunk 1, approximately 2.9 km east of Exit 25 on Highway 101.

Section 4 -- Mullins Bridge, River Road in Bear River, approximately 50 metres south of Lansdowne Road.

This tender closes on July 12. The work is expected to be completed by Sept. 30.

The work in Colchester County will consist of cold planing, gravelling, asphalt concrete repaving and bridge rehabilitation.

Section 1 -- Route 289, from Southside Road westerly approximately 7.9 km.

Section 2 -- Route 289, Dunlop Bridge.

Section 3 -- Route 289, Gully Bridge.

This tender closes on July 12. The work is expected to be completed by Oct. 31.

The work in Cumberland County will consist of gravelling and asphalt concrete repaving.

Section 1 -- Route 366, Trunk 6 approximately 8.0 km east to the Green Road.

This tender closes on July 12. This work is expected to be completed by Oct. 31.

The work in Halifax County will consist of bridge rehabilitation.

Section 1 -- Little Indian River North, Trunk 3, approximately 5 km west of Exit 5 on Highway 103.

Section 2 -- Paddy’s Head Island, Paddy’s Head Road off Route 333, approximately 20 km south of intersection at Trunk 3 and Route 333, Upper Tantallon.

This tender closes July 12. This work is expected to be completed by Oct. 31.
