Cease and Desist Order

The Nova Scotia Labour Relations Board today announced that it has taken action to end an illegal strike that began today, June 19, involving the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union and its president, Joan Jessome.

A complaint was filed with the board today, requesting the board to issue a cease and desist order against certain employees of Capital District Health Authority, who are members of the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union.

The board has issued an interim order directing the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union and its president, Joan Jessome, to cease and desist from this unlawful behaviour and to direct its members to ignore a notice authorizing them to participate in the unlawful strike against Capital District Health Authority.
