SV Concordia and Students Visit Halifax
WATERFRONT DEVELOPMENT CORP.--SV Concordia and Students Visit Halifax
SV Concordia and Class Afloat students will be arriving June 18 for a six-day visit to the Halifax waterfront.
Once again, Concordia will be berthed at Queen’s Wharf North, owned and operated by Waterfront Development Corporation Limited. While in Halifax during Tall Ships 2000, the ship was one of the major attractions, being one of only a few ships offering full academic courses and sail training on board a tall ship.
"Having Concordia back on the Halifax waterfront indicates to us that we are fast becoming the port of choice for visiting ships," said Fred Were, president of Waterfront Development Corporation Limited.
"She’s a beautiful ship with a unique history of working with youth to provide an exceptional educational opportunity. We’re pleased that she has asked to make a return visit to Halifax."
Class Afloat’s education is unparalleled, and it serves students for the rest of their lives. It is the world’s premier experiential education program. From Kenya to Singapore, the Galapagos to Easter Island, the program offers a passport to education and brings the classroom to the world.
During her stay, Concordia will be open for public tours between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., June 18 to June 22.
