All-party Select Committee on Fire Safety
HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY--All-party Select Committee on Fire Safety Named
An all-party committee has been appointed to review proposed changes to Nova Scotia’s Fire Prevention Act.
It will meet with people from across the province who address or who are affected by fire safety concerns. Its final report will recommend changes to ensure that Nova Scotians are protected by effective fire prevention laws.
The committee will table its report in the House of Assembly. A new bill will also be introduced.
The committee members are:
- Jon Carey (PC, Kings West), chair
- Brian Boudreau (Lib., Cape Breton The Lakes)
- Cecil Clarke (PC, Cape Breton North)
- Ron Chisholm (PC, Guysborough-Port Hawkesbury)
- Frank Corbett (NDP, Cape Breton Centre)
- Russell MacKinnon (Lib., Cape Breton West)
- Kerry Morash (PC, Queens)
- Cecil O’Donnell (PC, Shelburne)
- Graham Steele (NDP, Halifax Fairview).
