Marketing Workshops Put Operators on Road to Success

TOURISM/CULTURE--Marketing Workshops Put Operators on Road to Success

Tourism operators from around the province are participating in a series of educational workshops designed to help them market and package their tourism products and services.

Nova Scotia Tourism and Culture is sponsoring the workshops in partnership with the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia and regional tourism associations.

"We are proud to partner with industry on this educational initiative," said Rodney MacDonald, Minister of Tourism and Culture. "Tourism is a major economic generator for the province. Helping operators enhance their marketing efforts will ensure continued growth of this sector."

The sessions include interactive group training, as well as mentoring for up to one month. Participants will also be provided with materials that will help them understand the best way to market and package their products and services.

"Industry operators have regularly indicated that they are seeking information and assistance in dealing with the complexity of marketing and packaging," says Judith Cabrita, managing director of TIANS. "These workshops will help satisfy the need and we look forward to future opportunities to deliver this important tool to industry."

The workshops are scheduled to run in various parts of the province until June 8.
