Tenders Called in Eight Counties

Tenders are being called Wednesday, May 9, for work on roads in Annapolis, Colchester, Cumberland, Halifax, Hants, Kings, Lunenburg and Queens counties.

The tender in Annapolis and Cumberland counties will include one section in each county for full depth repair of portland cement concrete pavement and joint routing and resealing:

Section 1--Highway 104 (Oxford Area).

Section 2--Highway 101 (Exit 21 - Rice Road Interchange ramps).

This tender closes on May 24. The work is expected to be completed by Oct.31.


The tender for Colchester County will include two sections, both for bridge rehabilitation:

Section 1--Stewiacke River Bridge (Col 244); Highway 102 southbound.

Section 2--Stewiacke River Bridge (Col 245); Highway 102 northbound.

This tender closes on May 25. The work is expected to be completed by Sept.30.


The tender in Halifax County is for pulverizing, graveling and double chip work in one section:

Section 1--East Chezzetcook Road, from Highway 107 southerly to end of the pavement, approximately 8.5 km.

This tender closes on May 24. The work is expected to be completed by Aug.31.


The tender in Halifax and Hants counties will include three sections, all for bridge rehabilitation:

Section 1--Nine Mile River Bridge (Han 080); Trunk 14.

Section 2--Blacks Bridge (Han 041); Trunk 14 approximately 1 km east of Route 214 intersection.

Section 3--Bedford Bypass #1 structure (Hfx 254); Bedford Bypass over Trunk 1 at entrance to Highway 101 westbound.

This tender closes on May 25. The work is expected to be completed by Oct. 15.


The tender in Kings, Queens and Lunenburg counties will include three sections, all for sand resealing:

Section 1--Various roads in Kings County, approximately 19 km.

Section 2--Various roads in Queens County, approximately 1.67 km.

Section 3--Various roads in Lunenburg centre and west, approximately 29.87 km.

This tender closes on May 24. The work is expected to be completed by June 30.
