The Aquaculture Association of Canada and the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture and Fisheries will host the 18th annual Aquaculture Canada conference in Halifax, May 6-9.
"This is an exciting opportunity for suppliers, producers, scientists, educators, students, managers and government to talk about the issues and opportunities facing the industry today," said Ernest Fage, minister of Agriculture and Fisheries.
Over 420 participants from Canada, the United States and other countries will take part in the three-day event at the Westin Nova Scotian. The combined conference and trade show will provide an opportunity for participants to share knowledge and strengthen cooperation across the aquaculture industry.
The topics for discussion include shellfish disease prevention, the environmental impacts of aquaculture, policy development, new technologies and community public relations around aquaculture sites.
"The information shared at this conference that will benefit the participants and the industry itself," said Mr. Fage.
