Weight Restrictions Extended

TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS–Weight Restrictions Extended

Spring weight restrictions have been extended until 12:01 a.m., May 7, on roads in the counties of Colchester, Cumberland, Pictou, Antigonish, Guysborough, Richmond, Inverness, Victoria and Cape Breton.

The weight restrictions will be removed at 12:01 a.m., Monday, April 30, from roads in the counties of Annapolis, Kings, Lunenburg, Halifax and Hants.

Spring weight restrictions have been already removed from roads in the counties of Yarmouth, Shelburne, Digby and Queens.

The restrictions on heavy trucks protect roads weakened by the wet spring weather and help prevent severe breakup.
