Work Stoppage Complaint Announcement

The Nova Scotia Labour Relations Board today announced that it has dismissed a complaint of an illegal work stoppage filed by the Halifax Regional School Board.

The Nova Scotia Union of Public Employees represents the workers, who are custodial and maintenance workers. The complaint was filed with the Labour Relations Board on April 3. The interim order indicated the board investigated the complaint and was not satisfied that the work stoppage as described constituted an illegal work stoppage within the meaning of the Trade Union Act.
